If Dodge offered a batshit insane hellcat version of their sxt trims. 707 hp with AWD to make the power way more manageable. You think it is evil and mean now? Wait until that thing is hunting you down no matter rain, sleet or hail.

Awd would be awesome but a performance awd with 3 lsds like a giant evo

I still think the Dart SRT should have a 400hp supercharged version of the Pentastar that’s called the Hellkitten.

Sure just send us the AWD drive train and we’ll swap it right in.

AWD would be good for launch and 0-60 times but it would completely kill the insane aspect of the car. It’s the same as with the F-Type R, in AWD form it’s more manageable but in RWD it’s batshit crazy and that’s what made it so awesome.

So has anybody pulley and tuned those things yet or is Dodge still being stingy with the pcms? I havent heard a whole lot really.

The supercharged GM and Ford cars are barely off the lot when they get modded.

I don’t think that platform currently has tooling for awd.

It’d need a complete chasis redesign.

Well shit.

No reason not to put some huge axles and driveshafts in that and then Hellcat it.

I seriously doubt you could fit a sufficiently robust transfer case and front differential.

I know a guy who is into drag racing and Mopars. He knows guys who have done that, but basically the AWD system isn’t strong enough to handle it. It tends to break the front drive shafts. A new stronger system would have to be designed.

So you mean to tell me you would pass up on it because it is “ boring ?” I have been in plenty of cars with a lot of power and only RWD and they are great but if I was going to get a daily, AWD would be welcomed. If the dodge magnum was still around with that setup everyone would be losing their minds but I guess if you get it in a coupe or sedan form it is “ boring .” So don’t mind me I will just take my “ boring ” 707 hp grocery getter and be on my way.

Yeah it is a muscle car but why do they have to just leave it at that? Why not branch out and try stealing some of the market share from BMW, Mercedes and Audi? Granted Dodge will definitely struggle in terms of build quality and materials but for those who want the power for the almighty dollar and a bit of practicality it would be able to really hit above its weight.

I am not deluded to think that this swap wouldn’t result in the complete vaporization of the drive train especially since the stock version has 270 hp. I am making a case that the internals would be designed to handle the power. The technology is out there and if there is someone who wants it bad enough it will happen.

For Sweden said the same thing earlier so I’ll just post my exact response.

That is the point, you can have the insanity but for those who still want to be alive for their families and still use the car confidently in poor weather or winter there is an option. I am not saying I want more crazy from this, I am just trying to make more of the crazy more accessible more of the time.

I thought so too until I was searching for my next car which I wanted to have AWD. Lo and behold my surprise when the sxt rolled along and I did a double take. Then the Hellcat came along and I just wondered how awesome the two would be together.

You mean an SRT Hellcat Grand Cherokee? Those things are hardly stable with 450hp, you think it needs more?

Granted there are local guys by me with turbo SRT GCs, and theyre NUTS. 1100HP at the wheels from a turbo 6.1L. A 77mm turbo. Theres literally no reason other than its faster than jumping off a cliff.

I’ve been saying since they first revealed the Hellcat that they needed to pop that engine into the Grand Cherokee SRT for that sweet AWD action.

As I understand it, it’s not so much an issue of technology, but an issue of the level of effort and cost needed isn’t worth it. I can’t remember the details... but problems packaging a beefed up system was part of it. The proper way to do it is have AWD on the next gen Hellcat Charger so that there are accommodations made for it at the design stage.

You really think that you can make an argument like that about an American car? It is pretty much in our DNA to put way too much power in a car that probably can’t handle it. If it goes fast and makes a great noise people will want it. It is a great way for dodge to really make its presence known. Show what they are capable and kickoff another hp war. Either way we can only win from it.

I absolutely will make that argument about a Jeep Grand Cherokee (or any jeep for that matter).

For a modern car to do so poorly? We may not have widespread moose populations, but deer and other animals are very dangerous. If you cant swerve to avoid it without risking serious problems like a rollover, things need some heavy re-evaluation.
